Eco Club Leads Green Initiative with Tree Plantation Drive

The European School of Goa's Eco Club recently led a successful tree plantation drive, bringing together students, teachers, and community members to promote environmental sustainability. As part of the initiative, over 200 saplings were planted in and around the school campus, contributing to a greener and healthier environment.

The event began with a special assembly where students spoke about the importance of afforestation and its role in combating climate change. Eco Club members shared insights on how deforestation affects biodiversity and how planting trees can help restore the ecological balance.

Students from all grades participated enthusiastically, digging soil, watering plants, and labeling saplings with their names. Principal Mrs. Sharma commended their efforts, stating, "This initiative reflects our commitment to instilling environmental consciousness in our students. By taking small but meaningful steps, we can make a lasting impact on our planet."

The school plans to continue such activities, including waste management workshops, recycling programs, and sustainability projects. Parents and local community members also expressed support for the cause, with many offering to take care of the newly planted trees.

The tree plantation drive was a resounding success, reinforcing the school's mission to nurture responsible global citizens. Students left the event inspired, knowing that their actions today will contribute to a greener tomorrow.
